I filmed Rip's weave practice and the necessary ball playing session while we were at the training building.
I am using the weave-a-matics with Rip and I have closed them up quite a bit. I am not happy with how this has affected his footwork though, as he is not single-stepping through all the poles - a couple times he gets caught up and double steps, so I will be opening them back up a little and getting his footwork correct again.
I am also likely going to get the new Susan Garrett 2x2 DVD for weaves and will try that method for both Rip and for improving Skye's performance too.

Very cool. I need to do some videos of Vega so I can look at them later. I have my 2x2 dvd on order (I think they are shipping them on Friday). I'll let you know what I think. By the way, your dog is awesome.
Yea, I think its cool to have the videos to refer back to, just to see where they were in their training, and the fun of raising them!
I'll split the cost of that DVD with you as we talked about. Let me know when it shows up - it'll probably be during my trip to California and you will have Vega all trained up when I get back :P
I have the DVD and am watching it tomorrow so I will let you know.
Also Rift had the same footwork problem but I think he has figured it out now. He has been single stepping lately.
I thought the DVD's were very good. Can't wait to start Rift again just to tune him up when the snow melts!
Excellent - bummer that you dont have an indoor place in your backyard that you can use, guess I have an advantage there :)
I'm looking forward to trying this method out with Rip, and probably to give Skye better weaves too. We already have three of the 2x2 weave units, so hopefully they are within spec of what Susan recommends.
